Slow Leaving | Jack Little
Info
Jack Little (b. 1987) is a British-Mexican poet, editor and translator based between Mexico City and Bogotá. He is the author of Elsewhere (Eyewear, 2015) and is the founding editor of The Ofi Press: www.ofipress.com. He was the poet in residence at the Heinrich Böll Cottage on Achill Island in the west of Ireland in July 2016. He has participated in various festivals and literature events in Mexico and in the UK.
Slow Leaving is a book of movement and stillness; a space between places and a love letter home.
“Jack Little has a talent for combining everyday words in new ways, creating something completely original here in Slow Leaving. A ‘moon of crescent worm’ greets readers on the first page and ‘sun-pinched air’ follows soon. He seasons his poems with Spanish, Irish, and British slang, all reflecting his international outlook and experiences and sometimes the poems reflect this division of self between two worlds. These are poems of promise and prayer.”
